Boot Repair

It makes sense to have footwear that can be resoled over and over again. But do you know why your boots wear out?

The average step is 26 inches. The average person walks up to five miles per day. That means you take 12,185 steps per day.

On an average work day, a person weighing 160 lbs. exerts 4,600 pounds of pressure onto their boots.

Outback Leather located at 381 Main St. in Laurel, 301-604-2211, resoles boot with a 2-3 day turnaround. You have your choice of soles: leather, rubber, ribbed rubber, or neolite. The cost for full soles and heels is about $55.

"Your Shoe Service" located on Camp Meade Rd. in Linthicum is another local repair shop that comes highly recommended. It's an old-fashioned kind of place that doesn't use a telephone, so you'll have to take a little drive. The workmanship is great and the turnaround is about a week.
